Interested in learning how healthy your local creek, wetlands or river is? Can frogs, platypus or even native fish survive in your waterway?
Healthy Waterways Waterwatch Melbourne run FREE river health training sessions for anyone wishing to help improve waterways by regularly water testing.
You will learn the different sampling techniques, including “water bug” sampling and identification, how the data you collect is used and how to develop a monitoring plan.
It’s fun, free and very easy to do! No experience is necessary, all equipment and lunch is provided. Remember to be SunSmart; slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen and slap on a hat! And please wear closed toe shoes.
Bookings essential: Jane Bevelander 9380 8199 or e-mail jane@mcmc.org.au

I will be in attendance along with several members of Friends of Royal Park, Parkville Inc. Our group aims to start monthly water quality monitoring of both the Wetlands Treatment and Storage Ponds by June this year. I hope to see you there!
